Tapachula, Chiapas is very close to the Guatemalan border. Depending on who we talked to, we learned this city has a population of 350,000 - 500,000 people, with over 40 distinct neighborhoods - The colors & textures were stunning, but it was sad to see so much poverty and armed police presence on every street corner - and not just one officer, but more often groups of 3, 4, or 5
