the Luck 'O the Irish be with you today!
One of my favorite childhood memories is collecting and pressing wildflowers and leaves with my Grandma - to be carefully dried and preserved between the pages of books and then re-discovered a little later, sometimes incorporated into crafty projects like greeting cards or even framed arrangements.
One year Sonja & I gave Grandma this "official" press, with thick pads of felt specifically designed for neatly pressing flowers. Years later, coming upon the press again, this is what I discovered inside - the last items she had pressed - of course they were these:
Hunting for 4-leaf clovers was another of our favorite shared passtimes, and Grandma had more success at it than anyone. It was a good lesson to learn: a noble 4-leaf clover was always a sought-after treasure, yet available in even the most modest patches of grass, if you just looked for it...
