I've been helping Tim's mom finish a quilt for one of her coworkers... She coordinated the project, cutting the various block pieces from fabric for other coworkers to stitch together; then she & I previously sewed all the blocks and borders together; then today we finished assembling the layers (quilt top/batting/backing muslin), tying it off at points throughout; and we hand-hemmed the final border. I love the bright colors she chose!
First we laid it out in the guest room:
Then on the dining table - which has it's own protective pad, making it ideal for sewing projects - and it has indeed "hosted" many. This is the table I grew up with, I'm so happy to have it now for just this reason :)
And here it is finished! (Tim's mom is standing behind the quilt holding it up)
